The Tradition Continues...

The art of sterling silver inlay has been a Gwynn family tradition for more than two generations. It all started in 1976 with inlay artist Ed Gwynn who began his craft in Cody, Wyoming shortly before moving his young family to the pristine Bitterroot Valley of Montana. In this beautiful mountainous setting, Ed Gwynn passed on to his sons his natural talent for hand-crafted silver inlay as well as a strong belief in integrity and hard work. Years later, a profitable business and rich family tradition emerged.

Ed's youngest son, Dan, began the art of inlaying at the age of twelve. As Dan grew, his passion for knives and the art of silver inlay flourished as did his love of sports, wildlife and the outdoors. More than thirty years later, Ed now enjoys practicing his craft in a more relaxed setting back in his native Wyoming while his son Dan carries on the tradition. Incredible craftsmanship, unique designs, and attention to detail have set Dan and his family apart from anyone in the industry for more than three decades. Dans personal inlays can be found on hundreds of thousands of knives, money clips, letter openers and other fine products around the world.

As demand for Dan's knives has increased through the years, the handcrafting processes assure customers of a commitment to old world quality, originality, and unique designs. Gwynn Knife Company headquarters is located in Logan, Utah while production facility are located in Hamilton, Montana. As a company we look forward to continued strong growth and exciting new partnerships with Group Montana, Montana Silversmiths, and Big Sky Carvers as the Gwynn tradition continues.
